The Denver Nuggets will promote Calvin Booth to general manager, league sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Booth was previously an assistant general manager for the Nuggets.

Booth replaces Arturas Karnisovas, who was named the executive vice president of basketball operations for the Bulls. 

The Chicago Bulls are planning to start discussions with general manager candidates.

The pool includes several assistant general managers: Calvin Booth (Denver Nuggets), Marc Eversley (Philadelphia 76ers), Mark Hughes (Los Angeles Clippers) and Matt Lloyd (Orlando Magic).

Additional candidates may emerge as well.

The Bulls' front office will now be run by Arturas Karnisovas.

Booth is under serious consideration to replace Karnisovas with the Nuggets.

Denver Nuggets general manager Arturas Karnisovas emerged as the favorite to take over the top executive position for the Chicago Bulls, league sources told Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo! Sports.

Karnisovas impressed the team with his draft record and player development ability.

The team also interviewed Jazz executive Justin Zanik, though the Jazz intend to keep Zanik in the organization. 

Two other rumored candidates in Miami’s Adam Simon and Indiana’s Chad Buchanan dropped out of the running for the role.

John Paxson recently stated that he is willing to completely leave the organization if that's what the new executive prefers.

The Chicago Bulls have interviews planned with Arturas Karnisovas and Justin Zanik.

Karnisovas is currently general manager of the Denver Nuggets while Zanik holds the same position with the Utah Jazz.

Zanik attended Northwestern and also has experience as a player agent.

The Bulls are increasingly less less likely to interview Bobby Webster of the Toronto Raptors or Adam Simon of the Miami Heat. Both Webster and Simon are expected to be retained by their current teams.

Bobby Webster and Arturas Karnisovas have emerged as candidates to become the top basketball executive of the Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls will conduct interviews next week electronically.

Webster was promoted to general manager of the Raptors in 2017. Webster worked in the league office from 2006 until 2013 when he joined the Raptors.

Karnisovas is currently a member of the Denver Nuggets' front office and has also worked for the Houston Rockets and in the league office.
