The Indiana Pacers announced Friday they had picked up the 2012-13 team options on guard Darren Collison and forwards Tyler Hansbrough and Paul George.

Collison and Hansbrough were members of the 2009 NBA Draft class, while George was selected in 2010.

Kawhi Leonard was drafted by the Indiana Pacers with the 15th overall pick, but minutes later he was headed to the San Antonio Spurs as part of a trade.

The Pacers will deal the rights to Leonard and the 42nd overall pick to the Spurs for guard George Hill.

“I feel good. I had a meeting with them, and I got a great vibe from them,” he said of San Antonio when told of the reported trade. “Just any team I’m on, I’m happy with right now. I’m just going in, trying to do whatever the coach wants me to do to make the team successful.”

Leonard had been projected to go in the top-10 by a number of analysts, but a confluence of events led him to slide to the middle pick of the first round.

The Spurs have acquired the draft rights to Kawhi Leonard from the Pacers in exchange for George Hill, according to sources.

Indiana selected Leonard out of San Diego State with the 15th overall pick.

The Pacers will also send the 42nd overall pick and the draft rights to Erazem Lorbek to the Spurs.

Brian Shaw will be named the associate head coach of the Pacers once Frank Vogel is officially named the team's coach after the NBA Draft, according to a source.

Vogel took over for Jim O'Brien midway through the 2010-11 season and helped lead Indiana to the playoffs.

Pacers president Larry Bird said today that the franchise will not trade center Roy Hibbert to Minnesota, as was reportedly discussed.

According to a Yahoo! Sportsreport, the Pacers had conversations about trading Hibbert and their 15th pick in Thursday’s draft to Minnesota for the Timberwolves’ No. 2 pick.

“We’re not doing that … Roy is one of our core guys,” Bird said today at Conseco Fieldhouse.

It's starting to sound like a mere formality that Frank Vogel will become the Indiana Pacers' next head coach.

Team president Larry Bird spoke on Tuesday as though it is just a matter of dealing with a few final details.

"He's going to get every opportunity to have this job," Bird said. "What we're doing now is just going through the process. Hopefully, it won't take more than a week or two.

"There's some things that I see that by bringing a top assistant here could help Frank," Bird said. "We want to do it right."

The Indiana Pacers have discussed a trade package including center Roy Hibbert and the 15th pick for the Minnesota Timberwolves’ second overall pick, league sources said.

Indiana would draft Derrick Williams should a trade be consummated.

Brian Shaw will interview this week with former Celtics teammate Larry Bird — now Indiana Pacers president — to be Frank Vogel’s lead assistant coach with the Pacers, according to Mike Wells of the Indianapolis Star.

Shaw previously interviewed to be the head coach of the Pacers … four years ago. Shaw actually turned down the chance to interview to be the Rockets’ head coach this offseason upon realizing previous head-coaching experience was a likely prerequisite to getting it.

Indiana Pacers players want interim coach Frank Vogel to get the full-time gig.

"I'll be happy if Frank gets picked,'' said center Roy Hibbert before playing in a charity softball game for the Indiana Children's Wish Fund. "I've been with him since I was a rookie, so I hope he gets it. I understand that Larry's taking his time now, but I'm pulling for him (Vogel).''

"I really feel strong about having Vogel around,'' rookie swingman Paul George said. "I love him as a coach, as a person. But I have no control over it. I have to just go with whatever Mr. Bird goes with.''
