"They are much lighter," Beno Udrih said. "I like the colors ... and they are a little different than last year. They say 'Sacramento' on (the home jersey) and not 'Kings.' I don't know how they will be when we sweat, but for right now, they're great."

If NBA doctors confirm that Shareef Abdur-Rahim's knee injury was the reason for his retirement, the Kings would get salary cap relief for the 2009-10 season, according to Sacramento Bee.

Retirement A Possibility For Abdur-Rahim

Sep 7, 2008 7:54 AM

Retirement is a strong possibility for Kings' forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim as his 31-year-old body begins to wear down, according to Sacramento Bee.

Abdur-Rahim's troublesome right knee could prevent him from taking part in October's training camp, which could mean retirement and an early start to a coaching career.

The Sacramento forward said his physical progress remains "slow," and that he's "going to sit down and focus on that when I get back."

He's currently on an 11-day trip to Africa that will conclude on Monday.

Abdur-Rahim averaged just 1.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in six games for the Kings in 2007-08.
