Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors have agreed upon a four-year, $70 millon maximum contract extension.

The deal contains no options.

The Sacramento Kings reportedly made a late push to trade for Thompson by offering anyone other than DeMarcus Cousins or Rudy Gay.

The New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Dallas Mavericks and possibly Charlotte Hornets are all teams that could be interested in Kobe Bryant, according to ESPN's Chad Ford.

The Los Angeles Lakers lost Julius Randle for the entire season on opening night and are expected to struggle to make the playoffs. The Lakers also get to keep their 2015 first round pick if it is in the top-5.

The Knicks are an especially interesting possibility due to his connection to Phil Jackson, Derek Fisher and Carmelo Anthony.

The Knicks could include young players like Iman Shumpert and/or Tim Hardaway Jr., along with a 2015 first rounder and they also have the expiring contracts of Amar'e Stoudemire and Andrea Bargnani.

"I don't think Mitch has much choice but to find ways to lose," one GM told ESPN. "They're going to be bad anyway. You don't want to be just good enough that you lose the pick and still miss the playoffs. I don't think they have the assets to get good enough to make the playoffs and I don't think they have the [expletive] to trade Kobe. It's paradoxical, but right now losing seems like the only way to really get better."

Bryant's contract expires after the 15-16 NBA season.

The rising cap has triggered renewed interest from teams in trading for Jason Thompson, according to multiple sources.

The Kings like to use a small-ball lineup and could use Thompson as a backup center.

Thompson is signed through the 16-17 season.

The New York Knicks have agreed to trade Travis Outlaw to the Philadelphia 76ers for Arnett Moultrie.

The 76ers will also acquire a future second rounder, as well as rights to swap another future second round pick.

Outlaw is likely to be released by the 76ers.

The Knicks have already waived Moultrie to make room for Travis Wear on their roster.

The Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons have traded Joel Anthony for Will Bynum.

The Celtics appear to be making the move with roster flexibility in mind. The Celtics have 16 fully guaranteed contracts on their books and must trim that down to 15 before the start of the regular season.

If the Celtics ultimately elect to waive Bynum, the $900,000 savings from the trade would give them additional flexibility with the goal of staying under the tax line this season.

The Dallas Mavericks are attempting to trade Gal Mekel and Bernard James due to their need to create a roster spot.

The Mavericks would prefer to keep one or two of their 15 roster spots open entering this upcoming season, the sources said. No trade for either player is currently imminent, a source said.

Mekel averaged 2.4 points and 2.0 assists in 31 games as a rookie with Dallas last season. James has averaged 2.1 points and 2.3 rebounds during the past two seasons with the Mavericks.

Chase Budinger has been made available in trade talks by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets have shown an interest in Budinger, among several other teams.

Houston and Detroit are reluctant to take on the $5 million player option on Budinger's contract.

The Wolves have an excess of forwards and minutes may be limited for Budinger.

The Atlanta Hawks quietly reached out to a select group of teams last season making Al Horford available, according to sources.

The Hawks were seeking "the right price - including an unprotected 2014 first round pick."

Horford was injured last season, but is healthy again and remains one of the NBA's most productive big men when healthy.

The Philadelphia 76ers tried hard to trade Michael Carter-Williams around the time of the 2014 NBA Draft, but sources say the player they sought with an acquired pick was unlikely to be available.

The 76ers are expected to repeat the exercise in trading Carter-Williams as he recovers from offseason surgery.

The 76ers do like Carter-Williams, but point guard is the most replaceable position in today's NBA and they continue to seek additional high-value draft picks.

The Los Angeles Lakers reportedly showed repeated interest in Anderson Varejao while pursuing a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers involving Pau Gasol.

The Lakers' interest was to no avail.

Varejao had 14 points and three rebounds against the Miami Heat in preseason on Saturday.

Gasol signed with the Chicago Bulls in the offseason.
