Duke Inks Nation's Third Ranked Recruiting Class

Apr 8, 2011 10:09 AM

In addition to forward Michael Gbinije, the Blue Devils also have three McDonald's All-Americans signed in center Marshall Plumlee and guards Quinn Cook and Austin Rivers.

All four are ranked in ESPN's top 100 players in the class, giving the Blue Devils the No. 3 overall class behind Kentucky and St. John's.

On Thursday, when discussing his decision to turn pro with reporters, Kyrie Irving let slip that 6-8 small forward DeAndre Daniels may be pledging -- or may have already pledged -- to join the Blue Devils.

Daniels considers Kansas, Texas, Kentucky and San Diego State among his finalists along with Duke. He visited Kansas, Kentucky and Texas last December and has yet to visit San Diego State.

Prospective 2012 No. 1 Pick Anthony Davis Draws Comparison To Kevin Garnett

Apr 1, 2011 10:26 AM

Anthony Davis, a 6-foot-10 forward from Chicago, solidified his spot as the guy to beat for the No. 1 spot in the draft in 2012 during the McDonald’s All-American game.

Davis grew eight inches before his junior year of high school, yet retained the quickness, ballhandling and shooting abilities of a guard.

Davis is an aggressive rebounder, a big-time shot blocker and isn't afraid to dunk over people.

Scouts are almost uniformly comparing him to a young Kevin Garnett.

Davis will join Kentucky next season.
