The Boston Celtics have assigned center Vitor Faverani and guard Vander Blue to the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League.
Faverani has appeared in 37 games for the Celtics this season and has recorded 4.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in 13.2 minutes per game.
Blue has appeared in three games for the Celtics this season and has totaled five points, three rebounds and an assist in 15 minutes of play.
The Houston Rockets recalled Isaiah Canaan from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA D-League.
Canaan is a rookie and has split time with the Rockets and Vipers this season.
The New York Knicks have assigned Toure' Murry, Jeremy Tyler and Cole Aldrich to the Erie BayHawks of the NBA D-League.
Murry, Tyler and Aldrich will practice with Erie on Wednesday and will be re-called to the Knicks on Thursday.
The Los Angeles D-Fenders have acquired former Los Angeles Lakers forward Shawne Williams, by way of a successful waiver claim.
Williams (6’9” / 230) was selected in the first round (17th selection) of the 2006 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers. Most recently, he spent 32 games (11 starts) with the Lakers this season, posting averages of 5.2 points and 4.5 rebounds in 20.2 minutes. The Memphis native has appeared in 247 career NBA games (34 starts) with the Pacers, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets and Lakers. Williams has also played for Guangzhou Liu Sui, of the Chinese National Basketball League.
Isaiah Canaan, a Houston Rockets rookie playing on assignment for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and Terrence Williams of the Los Angeles D-Fenders, were named NBA Development League Co-Performers of the Week for games played Jan. 20-26.
A 6-0, 188-pound guard out of Murray State, Canaan averaged 25.8 points, 6.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds to lead the Vipers to a 3-1 week. On his second assignment with Rio Grande Valley, Caanan scored at least 19 points in all four games and, on Jan. 25 he recorded a season-high 34 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists in a 123-116 victory over the Austin Toros. For the season, Canaan is averaging 22.7 points, good for second best on the Vipers and seventh in the NBA D-League, to go with an NBA D-League-high 8.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds.
Williams, a 6-6, 220-pound swingman from Louisville, averaged 27.3 points, 6.7 assists and 6.3 rebounds, guiding Los Angeles to a 2-1 week. On Jan. 24, he tallied a season-high 39 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists in a 118-111 win over the Reno Bighorns. For the season, Williams is averaging 18.1 points, 6.2 assists and 4.7 rebounds. The D-Fenders are 7-3 since Williams made his debut on Jan. 4.
The Philadelphia 76ers have assigned guard Lorenzo Brown to the Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League.
This marks Brown’s fourth assignment to the Sevens this season. He has appeared in seven D-League games, averaging 19 points, seven assists and five rebounds. He has appeared in 18 games for the Sixers.
The Oklahoma City Thunder has assigned forward Andre Roberson to the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League.
In 19 games (four starts) with the Thunder this season, Roberson is averaging 1.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 7.9 minutes per game.
Roberson has seen action in seven games (all starts) with the 66ers this season and recorded averages of 16.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.86 steals and 1.29 blocks in 37.3 minutes.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have recalled guard/forward Carrick Felix and guard/forward Sergey Karasev from the Canton Charge. Felix has played in nine games for the Charge this season, averaging 11.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals in 28.7 minutes per game. Karasev has appeared in six games for the Charge and is averaging 13.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 28.8 minutes per game. |
The Boston Celtics have recalled center Vitor Faverani from their NBA Development League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.
Faverani, a 6’11” center, appeared in one game for the Red Claws while he was on assignment against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on January 25 and recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists and a block in just under 26 minutes of action.
