USA Basketball unveiled an initial 41-player pool of candidates for this summer's Paris Olympics, highlighted by LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Joel Embiid.

The rest of the pool includes: Bam Adebayo, Jarrett Allen, Paolo Banchero, Desmond Bane, Scottie Barnes, Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges, Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson, Jimmy Butler, Alex Caruso, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, De’Aaron Fox, Paul George, Aaron Gordon, Tyrese Haliburton, James Harden, Josh Hart, Tyler Herro, Jrue Holiday, Chet Holmgren, Brandon Ingram, Kyrie Irving, Jaren Jackson Jr., Cam Johnson, Walker Kessler, Kawhi Leonard, Damian Lillard, Donovan Mitchell, Chris Paul, Bobby Portis, Austin Reaves, Duncan Robinson, Jayson Tatum, Derrick White and Trae Young.

Players will continue to be added or removed from the list over the coming months. 

The 12-player roster could be set as early as May.

The Paris Olympics begin on July 27. 

USA Basketball is expected to announce the player pool they will choose from for the 2024 Paris Olympics in coming days. It's expected the pool will include around 30 players.

NBA stars such as LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis and Stephen Curry have expressed interest in playing in this summer's Olympics. Joel Embiid committed to the United States as his national team, as well. Embiid chose Team USA over France and Cameroon, of which he was also eligible to play for.

The 12-player roster for the 2024 Summer Olympics is expected to be finalized following the NBA season.

USA Basketball will reach out to 35-40 players by the end of January as they build a roster for this summer's Paris Olympics, sources told Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

Team USA has yet to send out any formal invites for its 12-player roster.

Invites will include players from the 2023 World Cup team that finished in fourth place.

Having a larger pool of finalists to choose from allows more players to stay engaged throughout the season. 

The list is expected to be announced in the coming days or weeks.
