Tim Leiweke will step down as CEO of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment on June 30, 2015 or earlier if a successor is found.

The Los Angeles Clippers will not change the name of the franchise under new owner Steve Ballmer.

There had been speculation that the franchise may want to move past its identity under Donald Sterling.

"I look at it as a name of survival. We've gone through a lot of stuff not just recently but for a long time," said Doc Rivers.

Ballmer also made clear that the Clippers would not relocate to Seattle.

The NBA will have an extended All-Star break this season.

Teams will have a minimum break between games of eight days with some having an even longer break.

There will be more back-to-back games as a result of the extended break.

The sale of the Los Angeles Clippers to Steve Ballmer has closed.

The NBA Board of Governors previously approved the sale of the Clippers to Ballmer and he is now their Governor.

The NBA forced the Sterling Family Trust to sell the Clippers after racist comments by Donald Sterling were made public.

Adam Silver said he doesn't expect a major change in the participation of NBA players in international competitions following the injury to Paul George.

"Without a doubt, basketball has grown tremendously since 1992, when NBA players began playing in the Olympics," Silver said. "Also, it's important to note the [improvement] many of our players have made in terms of ability, leadership and passion for the game by playing for their home countries. Injuries can happen any place at any time. The experiences our players have enjoyed by participating in their national teams, however, are ones that are unique and special in almost every other way. At this point, I don't anticipate a major shift in the NBA's participation in international competitions.

"It seems clear, however, that this will be a topic at our next NBA competition committee meeting in September and our board of governors meeting in October. And, of course, we will continue to evaluate the pros and cons of participating in international tournaments."

Silver is attempting to make basketball more popular internationally, which is one of the primary motivations in having NBA players participate in international events.

Michele Roberts plans on being very visible as executive director of the National Basketball Players Association.

The NBPA was plagued with apathy and disinterest in the final years of Billy Hunter's tenure, who was ousted for a series of alleged misappropriations. 

“I will probably end up being a pain in the [butt] because I am going to keep hanging around and make sure I can eyeball every single one of the men and women I work for,” Roberts said. “I want to meet them and I want them to meet me.”

Roberts is excited to get started.

“It’s exciting because you’ve got not long [but] a lot of promise and the resources to do it, but I’ve got players that are engaged that are making sure they are a part of [the process]. The energy is palpable and I couldn’t be more delighted.”
