NBA To Hold Off On Fining Mark Cuban Until Outcome Of Mavs' Protest

Feb 24, 2020 1:39 AM

The NBA will hold off on fining Mark Cuban for criticizing league officials until Adam Silver gives his ruling on the Dallas Mavericks' protest.

The Mavs, who lost to the Hawks 111-107 for the game in question, filed a protest over a late-game sequence involving an errant goaltending call that resulted in a John Collins' putback.

The Mavs are looking to replay the game starting from a jumpball with 9,7 seconds left and the Hawks up by 2.

Cuban went on Twitter to criticize the state of the league's officiating following the game.

Cuban is reportedly facing a fine for his tweets, with Silver also expected to consider punishment for Cuban stepping onto the court twice during dead-ball situations late in the game.

"We're going to review the matter in its totality," said NBA spokesman Mike Bass.
