Jerry Krause, on behalf of the Chicago Bulls, yesterday announced that the surgury on the left knee of  Jamal Crawford to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament was a success.  "I'd be remiss if I didn't say that we're certainly going to miss Jamal an awful lot this year," Krause said. "We thought at the end of last year, he was developing into the kind of player we know he can be. We expect him to have a full recovery."

Crawford was to be a huge part of the Bulls plans for the upcoming season, and after the news of the injury the team pulled the trigger on a trade that brought in veteran guard Greg Anthony, who is currently in China putting on basketball clinics.  Krause is looking to bring in more backcourt help, and two names that have been mentioned are Tim Hardaway and Kevin Ollie.  Henry Thomas, Hardaway's agent, said he has not talked with Krause "in more than a week ... and there's nothing really new" about the possibility of Hardaway playing for the Bulls.  "Several teams have expressed interest in giving Tim the veteran minimum [$1.1 million], but the Dallas Mavericks clearly have made the best offer so far," Thomas said. "Dallas is definitely at the top of the list."
