A pretty Penny so far

If Penny Hardaway keeps this up, he may become the best comeback story of this NBA season. After playing in only four games last season and just 64 overall in two seasons with the Phoenix Suns, Hardaway is again looking like one of the better players in the league. He leads the Suns in scoring with 22.4 points per game. But he had only 12 Wednesday on four of 14 shooting with Grant Hill defending most of the time.

"I feel like I can do more," Hardaway says. For the first time in a while, he's healthy and productive. He missed 78 games last season after having surgery on his left knee. After recurring pain and several visits to different doctors, Hardaway re-emerged this summer and dominated some pro summer leagues.

After a one-point season debut, Coach Scott Skiles questioned his desire. Skiles also benched the former Magic star. Since then, Hardaway has been terrific. "He's done all the things Penny can do," Skiles said.
