last night without shooting guard Wesley Person, who suffered a right elbow contusion in Friday's 105-91 loss at San Antonio. However, point guard Andre Miller was able to play after suffering a strained lower back against the Spurs. Person was hurt after diving on the floor for a loose ball in the third quarter. He didn't go to the bench, but he began experiencing soreness shortly after the game. ``I'm not worried about it,'' said Person, who had surgery to repair a damaged nerve on the same elbow last April. ``It's a little sore, but I think I'll be fine.'' Cavs coach John Lucas, who started Lamond Murray at shooting guard and inserted Jumaine Jones at small forward, is more worried. ``The doctors will look at it when we get back,'' Lucas said. ``It's day-to-day, but I'm concerned.'' With all the team's injuries, Lucas said players are ``afraid to walk around.'' At least Miller was able to play after having to leave with 9:51 left against the Spurs. ``My back just gave out,'' said Miller, who has played in 175 consecutive games. ``I'd been having some spasms. Maybe I slept wrong. But I'll be all right. I don't ever want to miss a game.''
ALL THE WAY TO MEMPHIS -- The Cavs made their first appearance in Memphis, drawing 13,874 fans. The Grizzlies had a sellout of 19,405 in their first game at The Pyramid. But they've slipped dramatically at the gate since then, not drawing more than 13,177 in three other games. ``This is a good, lively city,'' Lucas said. ``The problem is they have a very good college team (Memphis). You can only sell so many tickets now.'' The Grizzlies are coached by Sidney Lowe, a Cavs assistant from 1994-99. Lowe was hired before last season, when the team was in Vancouver. ``It's been great,'' Lowe said. ``I didn't know what to expect initially. The city has welcomed us with open arms.''

DIOP GETTING CLOSE -- Cavaliers rookie center DeSagana Diop, who hasn't played since suffering a knee injury in the Oct. 30 opener, said he excepts to return to practice tomorrow. ``Well, he's a rookie,'' Lucas said. ``I don't know what he means by practicing. But he could step on the floor and do a little.'' Lucas is hopeful Diop can do some significant work in practice by the end of the week and be able to return to play by late next week. ``He's got to get some practice,'' Lucas said. ``I'm not going to just let him go and play. I'm not going to be impatient with him.''
