Grant Hill saw the light -- probably glistening off the bald head of 6-foot-11 Kevin Garnett -- and he decided it was time to be young again.

So Hill rose and Garnett rose, meeting just before the rim during Saturday night's game in Minneapolis. The ball went flying out of bounds.

Garnett blocked the shot.

Hill smiled at the memory.

"It's funny," he said. "I probably should have had that dunk. Whether I made it or not, I was excited that I at least tried to do it. Before, I would've tried to lay it up off the glass and had the shot blocked. It was the first time I tried to dunk on somebody. You have to at least try to do those things."

Eleven games into Hill's reclamation project, his game is taking short and easy steps. His twice-repaired left ankle, which kept him out of all but four games last season, is no longer the issue.
