Chris Webber isn't surprised at all about the Pistons fast start.
"Joe Dumars told me over the summer, 'Come here and we will win a championship. And if you don't, we are going to win one without you,'" Webber said before his Kings played the Pistons on Tuesday. "He was right. I am definitely a Detroit native and a Detroit fan. I am happy they are winning."
He also seemed happy that he re-signed with the Kings (seven years, $123 million), instead of accepting the Pistons' offer (seven years, roughly $108 million). Although, he said it made for a most uncomfortable summer.
"Telling Joe and Isiah (Thomas of the Pacers) no was the hardest thing I've ever done," he said. "My father always says to be a man, but back then I didn't want to call either of them personally. I didn't want to do nothing."
