Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports: With a week before the Feb. 21 NBA trade deadline, Riley didn't rule out a deal, but suggested the next week could influence his thinking.

''I just hope we continue to win so next Thursday we don't have to make any kind of decisions,'' Riley said. ``You never know what's presented before you.''

Riley said the Heat is not a serious participant in trade talks for players who are said to be available. That list includes Denver point guard Nick Van Exel, several Golden State players (such as Marc Jackson and Larry Hughes), most of the Knicks' roster, and Portland's Damon Stoudamire and Bonzi Wells.

''I haven't thought about next Thursday,'' Riley said. ``We've talked, but . . . I don't know if there's any one thing out there that you can do. I read all the rumors, but we're not heavily involved in anything.''

The Heat would consider moving Grant and any of its veteran role players.

In other Heat news: Agent Dwight Manley, given permission by Memphis to shop ex-Heat center Isaac Austin, said none of his four calls to the Heat has been returned.
