The New York Daily News is reporting that the Knicks are currently discussing a deal which would send point guard Charlie Ward to the Minnesota Timberwolves for center Dean Garrett.  The move would open up playing time for Howard Eisley and would give the Wolves a point guard now that Terrell Brandon is gone for the year.

"If we can make a trade to improve the team we'll do that," said team president Scott Layden. "But we will not make a trade just to make a trade or make a change. We will not do that."

Garrett becomes a free agent after this year, freeing up a little salary for New York.
