Art Garcia of the Star-Telegram reports that the Dallas Mavericks may let Wang Zhi-Zhi go to the Clippers if they can keep Michael Redd. "If we get Redd, I would say there is less likelihood we would match [Wang's] offer," Mavericks president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson said Wednesday.

The Mavericks will know their status with Redd before they have to make a decision on Wang. Redd, a restricted free-agent guard with the Milwaukee Bucks, signed an offer sheet with the Mavs for three years and approximately $12 million Monday night. Wang signed an offer sheet with the Clippers -- three years for approximately $6 million -- Monday as well.

Both teams have 15 days to decide whether they want to match offers or not, but the 15-day period beging when the paperwork is received. Milwaukee received the Mavs' offer Tuesday, meaning the clock on Redd began Wednesday and ends Oct. 16. The Mavs didn't receive the Clippers' offer until Wednesday, so the 15-day period begins today and runs through Oct. 17.

If the Mavericks are allowed to keep Redd, Wang will likely be allowed to leave. If Redd is retained by the Bucks, Wang may be brought back to Dallas. Mavericks coach/general manager Don Nelson has said he wouldn't mind having another center, and would not completely rule out bringing back Wang.

Donnie Nelson did acknowledge that if the Bucks keep Redd, it doesn't necessarily mean the Mavs keep Wang. Nelson said the possibility exists the team would let Wang go in both Redd scenarios.
