In case you missed all the excitement the police were called into the Fleet Center last night... someone has stolen the Celtics game!

Boston lost its worse game in franchise history last night, falling to the Detroit Pistons by a staggering 52 points at home.  What made matters worse for the guys in green was they had their other superstar Antoine Walker back in uniform, leaving the team without an excuse for the display which had the Boston faithful cheering on the Pistons.  And why shouldn't they writes Joe Burris of the Boston Globe, they had nothing else to cheer about.

''That happens, it's fans, they do that,'' said Walter McCarty. ''It doesn't affect the players. It happens everywhere. There's nothing you can do about that. People don't back you up if you have a bad night.''

No Walter, you simply stunk up the place.

''I think there were a lot of issues,'' said Celtics coach Jim O'Brien. ''I don't think that we got the type of shot selection that we would like to get. Their switching hurt us. When we got done, I think we started to press our shots.''

We think you have a few more issues than simply shot selection Jim.

The Celtics did lose both captains very late in the third quarter, Pierce with an ejection and Walker again through injury, but the game was well over then.

The Pistons kept a level head about the win, worrying about their next games rather than basking in triumph.

''That's insignificant to me,'' said Pistons coach Rick Carlisle. ''The important thing is to carry momentum of this game forward to the next two before the break. That's really the important thing to us.''
