Doug Smith of the Toronto Star reports: It has been a dismal year for the Toronto Raptors and it might end early for Antonio Davis.

Davis is trying to rehab strained groin muscle and coach Lenny Wilkens says he might miss the team's final 8 games because of it.

"Let him heal up and let's see what the doctors say," Wilkens said yesterday of Davis, who will miss his fourth straight game when the Raptors face the San Antonio Spurs tonight. "Right now might be a good time (to give him some rest). They may say, `Let's pull the plug' and that would be fine. (But) he has a tremendous amount of pride and he wants to be out on the floor."

"I'm trying to be cautious right now," Davis said yesterday after a treatment session and brief workout at the Air Canada Centre. "You just have to listen to your body."

Davis was only played 53 of Toronto's 74 games this season and has averaged 13.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
