While Jason Kidd started to rest his mind and body before thinking of his future, Eddie Jordan, the Nets' top assistant coach, explored his options in Philadelphia yesterday.

Jordan had a second interview with Sixers General Manager Billy King, according to a 76ers official, and is scheduled to talk to representatives of the Washington Wizards today about their head-coaching job. According to several league and Eastern Conference officials, Jordan is a top candidate for both positions.

Kidd, the Nets' point guard, meanwhile, will not be able to explore his free-agent options until July 1, when teams can begin negotiating. He cannot sign a contract until July 16. Kidd has not talked of the future with his agent, Jeff Schwartz.

"He needs to catch his breath and relax; it was an emotional night," Schwartz said, referring to Sunday's season-ending loss to the San Antonio Spurs. "Sometime in the next week he and I will have a discussion."

The question before, during and after the N.B.A. finals was whether Kidd would be moving to San Antonio.
