Charlie Villanueva worked out for the Spurs Tuesday in San Antonio.

He is expected to work out for the Dallas Mavericks today and New Jersey Nets Thursday before deciding whether to withdraw from the NBA draft.

Villanueva, a 6-foot-10 forward from Brooklyn, generally regarded as one of the top five high school players in the nation, has committed to UConn and will play in Storrs next fall if he does not play in the NBA.

The deadline for withdrawing his name is Thursday.

If Villanueva ends up in Storrs, UConn's recruiting class will be regarded as one of the best in the nation. The Huskies have signed guard Marcus Williams and forwards Josh Boone and Ryan Thompson, plus Georgia Tech transfer Ed Nelson, who must sit out a year before he is eligible.
