One might think that the Celtics learned their lesson when it came to duplication.

Two drafts ago, they took lottery choices Joe Johnson and Kedrick Brown despite already having a thoroughbred (Paul Pierce) in the small forward position.

Little wonder that heading into Thursday night's draft, director of basketball operations Danny Ainge has said that what interests him the most is any position that doesn't involve his chief scorer.

Ainge also said last week he may find a shooting forward or another big guard who could balance out the floor and take some of the pressure off Pierce.

Perhaps that is why Aleksandar Pavlovic, a 6-foot-7 forward known for his ability to heat up in a hurry, has intrigued the Celtics.
