Portland TrailBlazers general manager John Nash has a huge load to handle as he prepares for the NBA Draft while also having to find a new head coach.

However, with the coaching search in a new direction after their job canadiate John Lucas pulled out, the canadiate list is down to three and Nash has learned that one of them is about to be offered a job.

The canadiate is thought to be Sonics Associate head coach Dwane Casey, who had a good interview with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

"At any rate, Nash said if the candidate is offered the Timberwolves' job, the Blazers "are not ready to react" with a counter-offer."

"I don't want to commit to what we will or won't do," Nash said. "But we haven't made the decision to offer the job to anybody."

The would leave Marc Iavaroni and possibily Flip Saunders as the third canadiate is said to associated with the Finals and Saunders has been rumored to be the first in line for the Pistons job if Larry Brown decides not to return next season.

There are also possible options Nash is exploring but is now focusing on the draft.

However, none of the potential draftees for the 3rd pick want to work out with the team if it means competing against other players.

The players who have requested to work out individually are Gerald Green, Chris Paul, and Deron Williams.

"I'm frustrated today because it seems like a number of players at the top are unwilling to showcase themselves, saying they don't want to work out one-on-one or two-on-two," Nash said. "But that makes it hard for me, because if they don't want to compete for the third pick in the draft, then it's hard for me to envision them competing 82 times a season."
