The Indiana Pacers announced Thursday the signing of first-round draft pick Shawne Williams, and James White, acquired in a draft-day trade, to contracts. Per club policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Williams, a 6-9, 225-pound forward from the University of Memphis, was the team?s No. 1 pick (17th overall) in the 2006 NBA Draft. He averaged 13.2 points per game for the Tigers in his freshman season before making himself eligible for the draft.

White is a 6-7, 200-pound swingman from the University of Cincinnati. He was chosen by the Portland Trail Blazers as the first pick of the second round (31st overall) of the 2006 Draft. He was then acquired by the Pacers in exchange for their 2006 second-round pick (45th overall) and two future second-round picks. In three seasons with the Bearcats, he averaged 11.7 ppg, including a 16.3 scoring average his senior year.
