The results of an MRI on Sonics' guard Delonte West's foot were not known as of late Thursday night, but it's becoming apparent that this is not a day-to-day injury.

West said the injury was like playing with a "rock in my shoe." And this is not the way he wanted to spend a contract year.

West has been known for his myriad of injuries, and the Sonics have seen just about every one in the past few months, from a bad toenail to a strained quadriceps to a sprained ankle to the foot condition that is considered one of the more irritating injuries to deal with.

West is a restricted free agent at season's end, and the Sonics have to decide if he's part of their future.

"He's a guy that's been hard to evaluate because of the injuries," Carlesimo said. "We'd like to see him at (shooting guard) and give him some time there."
