Allen Iverson has been limited by a hamstring injury in training camp, but insists he's still the same player.

"I can still do the things that I've always been able to do on the basketball court," Iverson told the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

"I've always said that once I'm unable to do the things I'm able to do and be effective and help my team, then I'm not going to play no more. I'm not going to embarrass myself, I'm not going to embarrass my team."

Iverson said he has grown to understand the importance of taking care of his body, acknowledging that his long wait for a contract this summer meant sacrificing some of his preparation.
