The Suns asked Jason Richardson to guard Kobe Bryant during the regular season, but Grant Hill is expected to take on the responsibility when the Western Conference Finals begin on Monday.

"You just try to make a guy like that work," Hill said of Bryant, who is six years his junior. "You've got to go in ready to compete and not be discouraged. He'll make shots even when there's defense.

"A lot of what they do goes through him. He's just a guy who is capable of taking over a game. You can do everything right and good offense trumps good defense. He's seen it all. He's been in these situations. He's playing hurt. He's willing his body and his team to victory. I didn't watch any film before the last two series but I might watch some before this series. I want to make sure the edits are of his misses."

Bryant averaged 27.5 points against Phoenix this season on 54.4 percent shooting.
