Russell Westbrook arrived to play Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors dressed as a field photographer, which was interpreted as a dig at Durant.

When the Thunder played at the Warriors on the Saturday before the Super Bowl in February, Durant remained in the Bay Area to work the game between the Broncos and Panthers as a photographer for The Players' Tribune.

Durant spent time with some Warriors' players, which is when some believe the official recruitment process began. Durant didn't become a free agent until July 1st but some Warriors' began recruiting him far earlier.

“I don’t care what anybody wearing to the game, man. Who gives a s---,” Durant said when asked about Westbrook's costume.
