Real Madrid has denied being in contract talks with Marc Gasol.

"We have never talked with Marc," said Real sports director Juan Carlos Sanchez. "Last time I've seen him was in Lithuania during Eurobasket."

Christian Eyenga has returned to FIATC Joventut Badalona, his former team.

Eyenga is under contract with the Cavaliers and will return to the team following a resolution of the lockout.

Bilbao Basket defeated Olympiacos by a final score of 76-61 in Week 1 of the Euroleague Regular Season.

Marko Banic had 22 points and five rebounds to lead Bilbao. D'or Fischer had 16 points and eight rebounds.

Martynas Gecevicius had 15 points in a losing effort for Olympiacos. Matt Howard had two points on four shots in 15 minutes.

Marcelinho Huertas, who was acquired this summer by Barcelona to replace Ricky Rubio, had an outstanding Euroleague debut with his new team in their 86-64 win over Union Olimpija.

Huertas had 17 points, eight assists and five rebounds, giving him a FIC40 of 26.5.

Pete Mickeal had 15 points, while Fran Vazquez added 10.

Barcelona had an eFG% of 58.8%, compared to just 45.0% for Union Olimpija.

Danny Green was Union Olimpija's leading scorer with 17 points. Davis Bertans went scoreless in just over four minutes of play.

2011 Euroleague champion Panathinaikos got off to a good start for the 11-12 season with a 98-77 win over Unicaja Malaga.

Seven members of Panathinaikos finished in double-figures with Final Four MVP Dimitris Diamantidis leading with 17 points.

Romain Sato, Steven Smith, Nick Calathes, Kostas Kaimakoglou, Aleks Maris and Sarunas Jasikevicius also finished in double-figures.

Mirza Teletovic continued his strong start to 11-12 with 23 points, six rebounds and two blocks in Caja Laboral's 69-66 win over Fenerbahce Ulker in Week 1 of the Euroleague Regular Season.

Kevin Seraphin of the Wizards had 10 points and six rebounds in just under 15 minutes, giving him a 17.9 FIC40. Pablo Prigioni had five points, seven assists and six steals in 30 minutes off the bench.

Reggie Williams had six points on five shots in 15 minutes.

James Gist had 10 points and seven rebounds in a losing effort for Fenerbahce Ulker. Thabo Sefolosha scored seven points in 21 minutes.

Even though he was a second round draft pick by the Pistons, Kyle Singler is pleased with his decision to sign in Spain with Lucentum Alicante.

"Definitely," said Singler. "I know a lot of guys back in the States want to play basketball.

"It's unfortunate that the lockout is happening. You have your pros and cons to everything. I'm far away from my family and they're not able to see me play, but, this is what I want to do."

Bennet Cantu added significant size to its frontline by signing center Giorgi Shermadini for the coming season. 

Shermadini played on loan last season for Union Olimpija from Panathinaikos.

Dirk Nowitzki refuted a report coming from Greece this week that linked him to Real Madrid.

"I haven't talked to anybody yet," said Nowitzki. "I'm still hoping that we can get a deal done soon."
