Veteran French guard Nando De Colo announced that he plans to retire at the end of this season. De Colo is wrapping up his season and career by playing for Fenerbahce in Turkey.

De Colo played for two seasons in the NBA for the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors. He then returned to Europe and spent the next five seasons with CSKA Moscow. De Colo led CSKA to the 2016 EuroLeague title.

Alex Sarr To Miss Remainder Of EuroBasket, Expected To Be Ready For NBA Season

Sep 3, 2025 8:37 AM

Washington Wizards center Alex Sarr will miss the remainder of EuroBasket due to a calf injury. France ruled Sarr out of the remainder of the competition after he suffered the injury on August 30.

Sarr is expected to be ready for the start of the NBA season. The injury will not require surgery for the second-year player.

A starter for the Wizards, Sarr was coming off the bench for France at EuroBasket. In two games, the 7-footer had averaged 9.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and a block in 19.5 minutes per game.

A rookie with Washington, Sarr averaged 13 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 blocks per game. The second overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft was named to the All-Rookie first team following the season. Sarr finished fourth in Rookie of the Year voting.

Rudy Gobert To Skip EuroBasket

Jun 21, 2025 11:29 AM

Minnesota Timberwolves and France national team center Rudy Gobert is planning to sit out this summer's EuroBasket competition. It will be the first national team competition Gobert has missed for France since EuroBasket 2017.

Earlier this year, Gobert said that playing in the summers takes a toll on him heading into the next season.

"After the Euro, it's always harder, that's when you feel the backlash. And you don't recover the same at 33 years old than at 23," Gobert, who turns 33 years old on June 26, said in February.

France is also uncertain if Victor Wembanyama will suit up for EuroBasket or not. The San Antonio Spurs star is still recovering from deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder.

EuroBasket 2025 runs from August 27 through September 14.
