Steve Wyche of the washington Post reports that Michael Jordan has decided to end his three-year retirement from the NBA to play for the Washington Wizards and will announce his intentions as early as today, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. It is expected that the team will announce Jordan's return through a press release, the source said.

Jordan was unavailable to comment yesterday.

Jordan will sign a contract for the 10-year veteran minimum salary of $1 million, the source said. In 1997-98, Jordan's last season in the NBA, he earned more than $36 million with the Chicago Bulls. It has not been determined whether Jordan will sign a multiyear deal although the possibility exists, the source said.
