Jodie Valade of the Dallas Morning News reports that Darrick Martin, who is fighting to make the 15-man roster, broke a bone in his hand and will be in a cast for three weeks.  This will hurt his chances at making the squad.

Also, the Mavs are petitioning the league for an unprecedented exception that would allow them to carry 15 players plus Wang Zhizhi until Wang arrives in December.  The league is considering it.
