SALT LAKE CITY -- In a four-way battle for point guard this season, the only sure thing on the Jazz roster is John Stockton.

After that, there"s John Crotty, Randy Livingston and Rusty LaRue all competing to be Stockton"s understudy, and all three have been making strong cases for themselves.

"We have four point guards," coach Jerry Sloan said. "Hopefully they can stay in there competing, play when they"re called upon to play and fight it out a little bit for a chance to make the team."

In Utah"s two preseason games, Sloan has used two of the backups for extended stretches with the third sitting out.
