There may not be a spot on the Knicks for second-round pick Michael Wright.


Head coach Jeff Van Gundy was asked Sunday if the burly 6-foot-7 forward would benefit from being around the team for the year. Van Gundy's response was, "I don't know if he's got a year."


The Knicks have 13 players with guaranteed contracts and want to add veterans, especially big guys who can counter the loss of Larry Johnson to retirement and the possibility of Marcus Camby being out for long stretches with plantar fasciaitis in his left foot. The rookie may not fit their plans.
