Q.You grew up in upstate New York, you coached high school in New York, and last year, you finally landed what had been a dream job for you, an assistant coaching position with the Knicks. How tough was it for you to leave New York after one season?
A.It has was a hard decision. I really like New York and I loved working for (Knicks Coach) Jeff Van Gundy. I probably learned more basketball there than I learned anywhere else. But this was an opportunity to be in a turnaround situation with the Pistons and I have known Rick (Carlisle) so well for so long. We have known each other since high school.
