(AP) Denver forward Calbert Cheaney was carried off the court with an apparent knee injury during the Nuggets' 92-82 exhibition loss against the Milwaukee Bucks Monday.

Cheaney got tangled up fighting for a defensive rebound and fell to the floor holding his left knee early in the first quarter.

The Nuggets said the injury was possibly cartilage damage, and added that Cheaney, who didn't return to the game, would be re-evaluated in the morning.

Cheaney was making his preseason debut after missing 58 games because of injury last season. Cheaney now joins Nuggets leader Antonio MyDyess on the sidelines.

Tim Thomas scored 22 points for the host Bucks. George McCloud led the Nuggets with 12 points.
