Ideally, a team would like to use an exhibition game to gauge its training-camp progress. But what exactly were the Milwaukee Bucks to take from their 92-82 victory against Denver Monday night at the Bradley Center?

Well, coach George Karl would have liked to have witnessed a little more sharpness in a performance that could charitably be termed as ragged.

"Our habits aren't there yet," Karl said. "Our fundamentals and consistency aren't there yet. I was disappointed in a lot of guys. Hopefully we'll be playing good basketball by Oct. 31."
