The Orlando Magic waived guard Laron Profit Monday, reducing their roster to 15 players two weeks before their season opener.

The cut of Profit leaves the Magic with five guards -- Darrell Armstrong, Tracy McGrady, Mike Miller, Troy Hudson and rookie Jeryl Sasser. Grant Hill and Monty Williams are also part-time guards.

Hudson is the only one whose roster spot is in any jeopardy. But with the ability to put as many as three players on the injured list, they are not obligated to cut anyone else before the season-opening deadline of Oct. 29 at 6 p.m.

The Magic will return to preseason action Wednesday night at home against the Charlotte Hornets.
