In response to the events of Sept. 11, Target Center has instituted safety measures that Wolves fans will experience for the first time tonight, when the Wolves split up and tip off against each other at 6 p.m.
All purses, bags and briefcases -- including those belonging to the team and the media -- will be searched at the entrances. The list of items that will be confiscated includes aerosol cans, liquids of any kind, containers of any kind, outside food and beverages, video recording devices, sharp ob- jects, weapons, chains, pocket knives and laser pens.
Vehicles will not be allowed to park immediately outside the arena, and additional police and security personnel will be on hand.
Metal detectors might be used at some games, and fans are encouraged to arrive early. Doors will open 1 1/2 hours before tipoff.
