"This is probably the deepest team I've ever played on," said Garnett, who left regulation with 10:08 to go but finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots. "We've got a star lineup coming off of our bench. And we also have a star lineup that starts the game. . . . This is probably the most versatile team I've ever played on, too."
Wolves coach Flip Saunders said this is the most deep and versatile Wolves team he has coached. So many players can play so many positions, meaning Saunders can play them in so many combinations. And that, he said, "gives you versatility, and it gives you the ability over the course of the game to change the tempo of the game by changing your lineup."
That's important to a team that plans to run more, block more, defend better and win more during the regular season. That's important to Garnett, who is trying to lead the team past the first round of the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.
