The real story of last night took place before the doors opened to Sovereign Bank Arena before the Sixers fell to the Utah Jazz by a 96-86 margin as the work crews tried to convert this hockey arena into a temporary basketball home.
For the first time in a long time this preseason, the players taking part in warmups actually resembled the Philadelphia 76ers.
Matt Harpring, Aaron McKie, Matt Geiger and George Lynch all worked out before last night's game.
And to add to the family reunion sort of atmosphere in the building, Allen Iverson (recovering from right elbow surgery) was back with the team for the first time since one of his childhood friends from Hampton, Va., was killed earlier in the week.
"I'm just happy to see them all back," Sixers coach Larry Brown said. "Having them all working out with us is big. That's our team. We need to get them back."
