SEATTLE ? So much had gone so wrong, and that was even before the Jazz came here to kickstart a three-game road trip.
John Stockton was hurting. Karl Malone was struggling. And members of Jerry Sloan's club were bickering a bit amongst themselves, or at least that is what the coach suggested.

With one little ol' win, though, all the Jazz's worries seemed to wash away.
Stockton played on, incredibly dishing 14 assists with a stitched-together finger. Malone emerged from his summer slumber to score a game-high 28 points, nearly matching his combined output from Utah's first two games of the season. And, yes, the Jazz beat Seattle 91-74 Saturday night at KeyArena, extinguishing some smoldering woes that could have flared out of control had they been permitted to glow.
"I have confidence in these guys," Sloan said. "I told them the other day: 'We're going to win some games.'
