The Cleveland Cavaliers scored a season-high for points in a quarter and finished with their best field-goal percentage in a game. They also came within seven points after falling behind by 20.
It was such an impressive effort that it made Michael Doleac and coach John Lucas ill.
"Our third-quarter play makes you feel worse because we're capable of playing that well and we should've came out like that in the beginning," Doleac said.
Added Lucas: "There's nothing to be happy about. I don't believe in sentimental wins. The way we started in the third quarter is how we should start the basketball game if we want to win a game at home."
Too little. Too late.
The Cavs rallied from a 20-point deficit by shooting 61.9 percent in the third quarter, but it wasn't enough as Sacramento went on to a 115-99 victory at Gund Arena yesterday.
