On the nights when things don't go as planned, mental toughness and fortitude become the staples for success.
While shots rolled off the rims, rebounds rolled off the fingertips and 7 of 20 free-throw attempts were missed, the Kings battled their way to a 95-83 victory over the hobbled but equally determined Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday night at Arco Arena.
The Kings improved to 9-3 by scoring the game's final 12 points. They were led by Mike Bibby's season-high 25 points, but it was reserve swingman Hedo Turkoglu's 14 points in the fourth that propelled them to their sixth win in as many tries at Arco.
