BOSTON -- If you live by the three, you can also die by the three.

The Celtics, who came into last night's game against Atlanta with the second-best team 3-point shooting percentage in the league, were a woeful 4 for 29 from beyond the arc last night as they lost their second straight game, 92-85.

Both losses have come at the hands of the Hawks, who last night won their first road game of the season and broke a 21-game road losing streak that dated back to last year.

In their game in Atlanta on Saturday, Boston made an NBA-record 10 three-pointers in the third quarter and had 17 in the loss.

But last night the touch wasn't there, and it was not for lack of opportunity.

"By and large, the looks Joe (Johnson) and Erick (Strickland) got were good looks; we just couldn't knock them down," Celtics coach Jim O'Brien said. "I'm interested in open threes -- if we miss, we miss. I'm not backing off that philosophy to shoot the open three."
