With a handshake, a few congratulatory words, and one commemorative basketball, George Gervin proclaimed David Robinson as the Spurs' all-time leading NBA scorer Wednesday night.

But while the brief pregame ceremony cemented him as No. 1 in the record books, the next two hours said something about Robinson's current status.

Tim Duncan, having long ago assumed Robinson's offensive responsibilities, scored 30 points to lead the Spurs to a 110-93 win over Seattle before 18,163 at the Alamodome.

The victory was the Spurs' sixth straight and gave them their best start (8-2) since they went 9-1 to open the 1981-82 season.
