The injury-riddled Cavaliers have another injury that seemingly has
come out of nowhere. Center Michael Doleac missed last night's game at Philadelphia with a sprained left ankle. Doleac was hurt Wednesday against Memphis, but he doesn't know when it occurred. ``I have no idea,'' he said. ``It just started hurting at the end of the game.'' Doleac was in pain when he fouled out with 10.6 seconds left. ``Two possessions before that, I just starting feeling it,'' he said. Cavs coach John Lucas is hopeful Doleac will be able to play tonight against Miami at Gund Arena. ``I wanted to save him for (tonight),'' Lucas said of Doleac, who was not in uniform last night. To replace Doleac, Lucas elected to move Chris Mihm from power forward to center and start Jumaine Jones at power forward. Lucas has resisted much of the season playing Mihm a lot at center, his position last season. But Lucas said he didn't want to start Brian Skinner at center so he would have a big man coming off the bench. Skinner played last night despite a sprained left ankle of his own. Guard Bimbo Coles played with a sore left knee.
DAVIS NOT A RILEY FAN -- Tim Hardaway last week was the latest former Miami player to rip head coach Pat Riley. Cavs swingman Ricky Davis, who played last season with the Heat, understands why so many players have been critical of Riley. ``It kind of bothered me,'' Davis said of playing for Riley. ``I wasn't free to play my game. You can't create. He has pretty much a set offense and pretty much the rest of the NBA is freestyle.'' Davis, now in his fourth season, also found out that Riley is not fond of young players. ``He likes veterans,'' Davis said. ``If you're a young guy, you can work hard but never get a chance.'' The Cavs won 90-83 in Miami earlier this month, but Davis said he wants to redeem himself tonight because he scored just two points in that game.

NOTABLE -- Philadelphia general manager Billy King said he has no knowledge of forward Tyrone Hill being hurt before he was traded Aug. 3 from the 76ers to the Cavs. Hill, who has yet to play this season due to a back injury, said he suffered the injury while working out at home July 30. ``All I know is when we traded him, he was healthy,'' said King, who said he first heard of Hill's injury when he couldn't practice at the start of training camp. . . . Tabitha Todd drove 448 miles from her Medina County hometown of Spencer to sing the national anthem before last night's game. Todd was accompanied by her husband, Steve Todd, director of Todd Music Ministries. . . . Sixers assistant Mike Woodson, a Cavs assistant the previous two seasons, went up against his old team for the first time. . . . The Cavs tonight begin a five-game homestand, their longest since they had five in a row in February 1999.
