Power Forward will be on display tonight.
So will Karl Malone.
Power Forward is a truck -- a big, shiny, noisy, expensive truck. It is owned by Malone, the Jazz's truck-like power forward.
Power Forward is entered in this weekend's Clear Channel Entertainment-U.S. Hot Rod Association Monster Jam, and is scheduled to be available for inspection by Jazz fans before the Utah-Seattle game at the Delta Center.
Meanwhile, Malone will be in his usual spot at power forward for the Jazz, who conclude a five-game homestand against the SuperSonics and are in search of their 15th win in 21 games.
Power Forward hasn't been doing nearly as well.
The upcoming Salt Lake City stop on the Clear Channel Entertainment-USHRA circuit will be the third for Malone's monster truck -- No. 32, of course.
Two weeks ago -- in front of 58,000 fans at the Astrodome in Houston -- driver Chad Fortune's arm accidentally hit a shut-down safety switch in the cab, causing Power Forward to wobble and roll on its maiden voyage.
Malone was accompanying the Jazz in Chicago at the time, but his wife and young son attended the event.
When Power Forward crashed, Malone said, "My little boy looked up at Kay and said, 'Daddy's going to be mad, isn't he?' "
