Somehow, Utah still had a chance.

After falling behind by 16 points early in the fourth quarter and playing miserably in an eventual 98-92 loss, the Jazz trailed by only two with 30 seconds remaining Wednesday night at the Delta Center. San Antonio had the ball, but this critical possession seemed to be going nowhere.

The Spurs swung the ball to Steve Smith, almost out of desperation. Only four seconds remained on the shot clock, and Smith was two full steps behind the three-point line.

The Jazz were perfectly positioned to stop the Spurs, gain possession and finish an uplifting comeback.

Except they didn't.

With one pump-fake, Smith got Bryon Russell off his feet and started past him. With no recourse, Russell grabbed Smith, who buried two free throws with 28.2 seconds remaining to cement San Antonio's win.
