There is no doubt that ex-Sixer Charles Barkley has a big mouth, his latest outburst involving the future of the New York Knicks franchise.
"They've got no future," Barkley said of the Knicks. "They've got to stick with that team. The only player they can trade is Spree. He's the best player. I don't think they've got anybody else anybody wants. So ya'll going to have to ride it out."
That included center Marcus Camby, whom Barkley said he doubts would ever play out a full season.
"I don't know if Marcus Camby's ever going to be healthy," Barkley said. "His body's not made for the N.B.A. lifestyle. He's a good player when he's healthy, but I don't know if he's ever going to be healthy. It's a physical game. His body hasn't matured and gotten stronger."
At least the Knicks were prepared, Latrell Sprewell immediately predicting that Barkley would make derogitory comments about his team when he heard Barkley was commentating the Knicks-Heat game.
"He won't have anything positive to say," Sprewell said. "He never says anything good about the Knicks. It doesn't bother me, but obviously he has something personal or something against the organization. I don't know what it is, but he doesn't care about our team. There are tons of teams that have been worse than we are or are not as good as us, and he never kills them like he does us."
